​Cimarron Middle School's overall grant requests have been reviewed and scored by EPS Foundation board members as well as a panel of EPS educators total 3 grants in the amount of $8,042.49.  Grants are listed in order of score ranking and a * in front of the grant name indicates funding priority based on a threshold score of 67 points and above. Students in the Alternative Education and Moderate Cognitive programs have a large range of learning challenges and learning gaps. This ready technology enhances the ability to provide instruction at the individual student’s current level while still teaching all required Oklahoma Academic Standards. The uses for the devices in both programs are innumerable.

Learning to use emerging technology, such as dictation software, prepares students for college, career, and life, “empowering all students to succeed in a changing society,” a guiding principle of Edmond Public Schools. This software will increase student independence with writing assignments, improving their reading, spelling, and vocabulary skills, and preparing them for high stakes end of instruction exams, two of which are in English and require extensive writing.

These iPad Minis will promote effective learning in the math classroom. From learning stations on an infinite amount of math topics, skill and drill apps, graphing applications, one-on-one tutoring during an RTI Focus class, recording tests that need to be read aloud, educational videos by topic, group activities with QR code scanners and more to catch student’s attention using technology as the pathway to rigor.
