$303.00  |  Purchase of materials for Conscious Discipline

The Conscious Discipline program sees conflict as an opportunity to teach missing social and emotional skills and replace hurtful behavior with a healthy skill that promotes growth. Ultimately, Conscious Discipline teaches both adults and children how to rely on internal resources and to think through what is the best choice in a situation thus resulting in a safe and positive learning environment leading to increased instructional success.

*TECHNOLOGY GRANT

Diane Cantu
$1,186.86  |  Purchase of calculators and a document reader

This grant is important because the current curriculum requires the use of this particular type of calculator and currently the teacher only has 12 calculators to work with 50 students. The document reader will facilitate the teaching on how to use the calculator (TI-15) by affording the teacher the ability to demonstrate the particular operations to the class.

*HEADPHONES IN FIRST GRADE

Christy Holloway and Morrow Forrester
$256.78  |  Purchase of headphones for classroom

As part of the Daily 5 curriculum, students listen to books on iPads thereby exposing the students to fluent reading while utilizing highlighted print.
