Scotti Wilson, Molly Crouch, Dr. Dennis Gentry & Emily Wells
$5,000.00  |  Purchase of leveled book sets

Research studies have shown that most struggling readers who are identified early and taught appropriately can learn to read on grade level. The books that will be purchased with this grant are leveled and are age appropriate for multiple reading levels. These books will provide teachers and students with differentiated instruction in reading, providing remediation for students who need extra support and challenging students who need enrichment.

*headphones with microphones

Debbie Conner
$1,470.00  |  Purchase of Discovery Headsets

For a child to be able to fully comprehend what they read, they need to be fluent in their everyday reading skills. The students at Sunset use several diagnostic computer programs on a daily basis in the computer labs. At this time, only one lab is able to use all these programs. This grant will enhance and enrich student reading throughout the school.
