2021-2022 Student Ambassador Applications Now Open

Student Ambassadors will represent the Edmond Public Schools Foundation and work to increase and enhance community awareness of the Foundation in the community and their school. Ambassadors have the opportunity to develop leadership and volunteer skills, learn more about how funding for public schools is distributed, utilize their talents to build a professional network while making an impact for their school district.
Opportunities to build skills include: social media promotion, fundraising, newsletter writing, volunteering in the schools, graphic design, public speaking, photography, video creation and editing, event planning, community outreach, network building and collaboration.
Tasks:
-In conjunction with an EPS Board Member representative, represent the Foundation at school speaking engagement
-Join at least one Student Ambassador committee (Fundraising, PR/Marketing, Volunteers)
-Engage with Edmond Public Schools Foundation on social media platforms
-Assist with EPSF fundraising events
-Work as a group to host at least one fundraising event that involves the student population
-Assist with office tasks as needed (i.e. mailings, etc.)
-Attend the monthly Student Ambassador meeting
-Attend one Edmond Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors Meeting
-Plan and participate in the Student Ambassador fundraiser
Members:
Students must be entering 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade for the 2021-2022 school year and provide one reference from a school representative or another nonprofit where they have demonstrated leadership. Students must be able to attend monthly meetings and participate in a committee. Meetings will be the first Wednesday of each month 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Meeting locations will vary depending on the topic and activity.
In addition to Student Ambassador committee work, there will be several guest speakers. Past speakers have included: Bret Towne, EPS Superintendent; Joy Hofmeister, OK State Superintendent; Sheila Stinnett, Edmond Family Counseling, Mental Health; Amanda Bowen, Youth Leadership Edmond Program; and Duncan Fugitt, EPS Teacher of the Year. A committee made up of current Student Ambassadors will be working this summer to schedule speakers for the upcoming year.
